[.]., I am always looking for books that enhance my spirit. It is also a book that demonstrates the ongoing circle of life.
It is a heartwarming story about the relationship between a lovable pig and a spider. It is a wonderful book that will teach children about the meaning of love while, at the same time, helping them to develop empathy for some of God's other creatures.
This is one of my all-time favorite children's books. Yet it is really a love story.
It is also a wonderful book with which to prepare children for the death of a loved one.The author imbues Wilbur, the pig, and Charlotte, the spider, with delightfully human characteristics. It is a wonderful fantasy.
For these reasons, the book has a spiritual dimension. For anyone who is on this quest, be you a child or an adult, this is the book for you.Davis Aujourd'hui, author of "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude"
White is one of the most heart-warming stories you could ever read. I enjoyed reading this book beacause of the many emotions it stirs. The message in this book is very simple: you can do anything if you set your heart and mind to. Charlottes Web is an excellent tale and a wonderful book for all ages. She must sell her beloved pig. This story is about a young runty piglet named Wlibur who is rescued from an unjust death.
Fern, the young girl who saves him has no idea that her actions alone will soon change the whole town. One day, Fern is forced to do the unthinkable. Charlotte's Web by E.B. It also pointed out some specific vocabulary that helped me understand what the author was actually saying. As the story continues to unfold, more friendships are made and Wilbur is yet again faced with another life or death situation. The friendships made, the suspense of what is yet to come, and the tragedy of something each of us will face one day, are some of the things you will discover while reading this book. I enjoyed the parent questoins the most because it gave me the opportunity to discuss the book with my mom.
In the meantime, Wilbur finds himself quite lonely in the Zuckermans big barn. As you embark upon the lives of these extraordinary characters, you will find it hard to put this book down. Before reading Charlottes Web, I purchased a "PACES Study Guide." This really helped me understand the story more. To her delight ,her Uncle Zuckerman, who lives just across the street, purchases him. However, he soon develops a friendship with an unlikely creature, a caring spider named Charlotte. Throughout this guide, it asked questions that made me really think about what I was reading. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
Wilbur's fame spreads until the day of the county fair, where he wins a prize. Of course the entire cast of barnyard characters, the rat, the geese, the sheep, the hired hand, all add to the color of the story, but it is the wisdom of the spider that spins the plot of this 1950s classic. The spider finds a way to save him from turning into bacon by spinning words into her web. Charlotte, the wisest of the barnyard animals, tells Wilbur that his days are numbered, causing him no small distress. A farm girl named Fern adopts Wilbur the pig and nurses him, but her father doesn't want to keep a runt, so he farms the pig out to his brother-in-law. I'll give it five stars for style. His one true friend was Charlotte. It's a bit like Puff the Magic Dragon, when little Jackie Paper comes around no more, but Wilbur was never attached to Fern in the first place.
White's style is simple and direct. In the end, well, as we all know, pigs live longer than spiders, but Charlotte has left her mark not only on Wilbur but on all who read this touching little story. Nonetheless Fern goes every day to visit Wilbur, where she sits on a stool and listens in on all the barnyard conversations. E.B. By that time Fern, however, would rather be off riding the Ferris wheel with Henry Fussy. This is one of the strangest stories I have ever read. The illustrations by Garth Williams bring out the earthiness of the story.
Do you think spiders are gross. If you answered, "YES.", you are not alone. Wilbur did not like spiders and especially detested their eating habits. Read this book to discover true friendship formed between a pig and a spider and even some spider facts.
I am very satisfied with my purchase, it was well packed, the product was in a good condition, and arrived safely at my house.
